About
The web site has been developed and created by The Robert Gordon University's Aberdeen Business School, based in North-East Scotland. This website is the result of a 3 year project, part financed by the European Social Fund. The project, entitled 'Tourism Management' aims to support the development of the tourism industry by creating management training materials. The purpose of this website is to assist those working in the industry, by providing bite sized learning in a variety of relevant modules, ranging from financial management to how to market your business. This will have specific appeal to SME's in Scotland. With this in mind, the website has been called 'Training for Tourism'.
This project has been made possible by external funding from the European Union European Social Fund, Scottish Objective 3 Operational Programme. The funding originated from Measure 3.1; to promote the increased uptake of active learning by organisations which are key to economic competitiveness in Scotland.
The Robert Gordon University leads the project and is a primary match-funder. In addition, recognising the importance of industry representation, the team brought together a steering group at the very beginning of the project. These individuals act as a 'Board of Executive Directors', guiding and steering progress of the project over the last 3 years. During the lifetime of the project, the following organisations and individuals have been match-funders. We owe gratitude to these organisations and specific individuals who have assisted us with this project - thank you to you all.
