Introduction
This skill section provides the lay person with a very brief overview of some of the legal issues that impact upon the work of tourism managers. It addresses some of the basic legal issues that tourism sector operators need to be aware of and will 'flag up' situations that, should they arise, will require users to seek legal advice. It should be stressed that the law in these areas, as in any other, is exceedingly complicated and users ought not to try to resolve complex legal issues themselves, either through recourse to these materials or through similar lay persons' guides to the law.
